David joined Crawford Film Productions (Australia) in 1974 working on shows such as Bluey, Young Ramsay, Homicide and The Sullivans.

In 1977, after working for HSV7 (Melbourne) in variety and drama, David went freelance and bought his own equipment.  Since then he has worked on feature films, short films, documentaries, TV series, reality TV, commercials and trade presenters as lighting director, lighting designer, gaffer and technician.

In 1980, he registered his business and began expanding his equipment until he incorporated in 1982 to become D. & K. Parkinson Sound Lighting Service P/L.

He has worked in Europe, Africa, Central and South America, Polynesia, Asia and Australia.

His career in film, television and the entertainment industry includes over 60 feature films, television series, commercials, photographic shoots and stage productions.  He was twice nominated for an Emmy award for his work on Survivor.
